Actually, plumbers and electricians do far better: they have no overhead, no schooling costs, few if any employees. And last time I called a plumber, I had to take a whole day off, and waited till 6 PM for him to show up. Last time I called my cable company, they didn't even show up! And are cell phone plans fair? Yet no one complains. Go to a department store and see how much a shirt that's made outside this country costs. You wash it once, wear it twice, and then you can just throw it out because the quality was awful.

My dentist is great and his staff are really nice. Yes, it's expensive, but luckily I have dental insurance. I'm grateful that when my daughter fell and broke her front tooth, he opened the office that Saturday and saw us. My elderly grandmother needed some work. He gave her a nice discount, which was great 'cause she has limited funds. Yes, he's not cheap, but the work is good.

My sister in law's mother unexpectedly died two years ago. They are also patients there for many years. The doctor and his staff were so thoughtful for sending a card.

My kids go there. They love to go. I am happy that they are not terrified of the dentist. He wasn't cheap when my youngest needed two fillings and the insurance did not pay in full (as they rarely do).

I'll be honest-I had a dental emergency once (at least I thought I did). I called the office on Monday and they were super busy. After pleading with the office manager, the doctor saw me (even though I had to wait). I'm sure someone had to wait her turn because of me.

I find that dental offices are one of the few places left where we're not just account numbers. I don't have to press 2, press 5, press 4, enter my SS number, then press 2, remain on the line for 30 minutes in order to talk to someone when I have a problem.

You show me a plumber Or an electriician thats makes $105.00 in 5 mins, or $1200.00 for a 1/2 hr. You think they don't have high insurance to pay for there business. I would rather call a plumber with a problem then a dentist. In a heartbeat.......... As far as the cable companys, department stores, cell phones, you say no ones complains. Hmmm........ I must be living on Mars. I hear it all the time. The problem is people set THEMSELF up for these problems. It's the ones that go to these stores and pay the high prices. Fancy cell phones that play music and take pictures. Please.............. Alot of people can't afford dental insurance. So I guess it's dentures for them. So sad.......... As the discount with your grandmother, He knew he wasn't going to get much out of her. Your daughters broken tooth........ Why wouldn't he open up......... there was money to be made. The card for your sister in laws mother............ What a sport. They all have a way of being phony to suck you in. He knows where the money is. Has a good thing going there. A whole family. Can't get any better than that. He's no dummy........ I love my dentist to. Been going to him for many years. Does good work. But still a ripoff. I have kicked him to the curb. I'm done paying for all his vacations & fancy cars. Yes, I said cars as in many. I don't see plumbers & electricians driving around with there car of choice for the day and a big fancy cigar in there mouth. And like I said in my last post. Ask his staff what they get paid. I think we all know the answer to that one. People need to wake up and smell the roses not the pollution of dentistry. Have a nice day Misty
