... It's great that you went to see the dentist and found out what the problem was. Sorry to hear of the outcome :( The antibiotics will help fight any infection and may clear up some of the symptoms. If the pain is due to the decay, they won't help with that. You may want to try Benzocaine and see if that gives you any relief (worth a try) but ask the dentist before you... (14 replies)

... I had the same symptoms you had. Unfortunately I waited and my tooth became absessed and they ended up pulling it. After I saw what my tooth looked like after they pulled it, I do not wait around any longer. Luckily, this was a back molar. Tooth pain never get's better, trust me, it only gets worse. ...
