... I had this procedure done about 10 years ago with only novacaine. Didn't feel a thing. The next day, my upper lip was swollen and huge. They told me to keep icing it. I didn't have any pain, just mild discomfort from the swelling. Tomorrow, I am having another apico done. (6 replies)
... Carrie, I have had several of these done and only with novacaine. You might have some swelling. There will be a few stitches, and some after discomfort, but not really pain. I am not sure of the cost as I do have dental insurance, but it is similar in price to a root canal. Not to worry, if I can do this with only novacaine than how bad can it be!!! You will be fine. ... But I am glad to hear that you are getting better.:) It must be hard to be going through all of that with a baby to take care of. Luckily my son is 5. I am hoping to have another child soon. ... Border3899, Thanks for asking, it went very well :) . It was the quickest dental procedure (other than fillings) that I ever had and it was not bad at all. It does hurt a lot now and I am very swollen (I look like someone punched me, lol). But the dentist gave me vicadin which helps a lot. Did you have your apico yet? How did it go? ... I was out during my surgery, so I didn't feel anything. I did swell and the stitches tickled, but it really wasn't as bad as I'd feared. Are you taking pain medicine? Advil will help the swelling, too. Good luck. Sorry to hear it was painful... Happy healing... (9 replies)
... hello Border3899, at first thanks for your reply, yesterday i had apico surgery , & in counter you i felt pain during the surgery because my tooth condition was very bad & the infection includes large area of the surrounding bones the bad thing is the effect of the local anaesthesia had been lost very rapidly & i felt with every suture i did ice on & off... ... Just thought i'd post an update on how my Apico went this afternoon. All in all it wasnt to bad, the worst part of the actual procedure was the shots of novicaine and then listening to some of the noises during the procedure, but no pain whatsoever during the procedure. Right now it's about 4 hours post and i've got minor swelling, very little pain the pain i have is... (12 replies)
