... Hmm... I think you should call your dentist and ask him specifically what he means by a 'membrane'. It should be guaze. I've had several teeth pulled over the years and the dentist has always put guaze in the socket. In fact, I just had a tooth extracted the day before yesterday and the dentist did the same thing.
