... Januvia is pretty new.. And I think it asks the pancreas to work harder which seems counterproductive to me - since as diabetics our pancreases are already 'hurting'. ... Janumet is a combination of 2 different drugs, one of which is metformin. I don't know too much about the other, but form what little research I did, neither drug tends to cause hypoglycemia. Basically both drugs tend to increase insulin sensitivity, not insulin secretion. So the risks of lows is minimal.
