I'm 24 years old, about to turn 25 in December. I'm about 5'5/5'6, and I weigh around 230 lbs. I admit that when it comes to my Diet, I haven't had a healthy lifestyle. I've relied on Fast Food Restaurants, Pizza chains, at home meals that probably aren't prepared in a healthy way. I still live with my parents (Yes, I admit, I'm a loser), and I have no job or income. I don't exercise at all, the only thing that could even come remotely close to exercise is walking. I want to change my ways around, and eat and live a healthier lifestyle, but I don't know how to start or what to prepare.

I have a hard time eating Vegetables, so I've been trying out various Salads from Fast Food Restaurants. I really enjoyed the Martha's Vineyard Salad from Arby's that I tried out a couple of weeks ago. Is eating Salads from Fast Food Chains a good thing?

A lot of Vegetables I can't even stand to eat. A friend of mine suggested that when it comes to snacks, I should probably eat Carrot Sticks, and If I have a hard time eating Carrot Sticks, to try and use some kind of Dip. Is using Dip to eat Carrot Sticks a good idea?

Speaking of which, is using Salad Dressing a good thing for Salads?

What kinds of Meat should I eat? I prefer Boneless Meat, mainly Chicken, Porkchops and Steaks. Is it okay to continue to eat these kinds of meat? (I don't like Fried Chicken or Fried Meals)

Should I prepare them in a healthy way that I don't know of?

Is ground beef ok to eat as well? We usually make home made Spaghetti with Ragu Sauce, and just mix in ground beef since we don't really like Meat Balls. Is this OK to continue? Or should I use something else for spaghetti?

Are Mashed Potatoes really okay to eat in a Diet? Or should I use some kind of other Potato Meal?

What about Sliced Cheese, Ham, Salami, and Bologna for Sandwiches. Are those alright to keep eating? (For lunches that is, 1 Sandwich per day).

Should I use Wheat Bread for Sandwiches? Or continue to use White Bread?

What about Eggs? Should I prepare Eggs differently? (I don't like Fried Eggs)

What about other breakfast foods? Is there any kind of special meal I can have for Breakfast? (I don't like breakfast sausages)

What kinds of Fruits should I eat? I like Apple Slices, Oranges, and Bananas. Is there any other fruit I should eat?

What about Exercises? I don't know of any Gyms around here, or Fitness Clubs, plus I probably couldn't afford it. What kind of Home Exercises should I use to get myself into better shape?

Are there any books on How to Prepare Healthy Meals? Or on Fitness that you can recommend to me?

I'm sorry for asking so many questions. It's just that I really don't know what to do to get into better shape. My eating habits have been terrible, and I don't exercise, and I really want to change my ways around. I'm just trying to ensure that I live a long and healthy life. So I thank anyone who helps me by replying to my questions.

Edit: I forgot to mention, but please don't include any Mushrooms. My mother is allergic to Mushrooms, and we don't know if I might have caught that allergy as well. So we've been staying away from mushrooms for a long time.
