... Well, they are certainly not the lowest calorie food around . . . but you have to look at everything in context. You absolutely need some foods that are not low in calories, so that cannot be the measure of everything. As already stated, they have protein, etc., plus a recent report lists them as being relatively high in antioxidants (some varieties more than others). ... (9 replies)

So if you have a choice between eating a bag of 12 oranges or drinking 2 litres of orange juice you should eat the oranges as you would only be able to eat about 3 of them before feeling full up due to the fibre in them. In the absence of glucose, your body turns to fat and or muscle mass for fuel. Those things that you consume that are not carbohydrate, protein, or fat, are perceived by the liver as toxic waste... They are completely natural and organic, no preservatives, and I LOVE them.
