23 year old male , very anxious , i have anixety and use xanax as needed, was short of breath and felt chest pain for a while, got every test done on my heart and chest , and numirous blood tests .. Just putting that out of the way for you incase u wonder if its the heart ..

I burp alot, i feel like theres an airbubble in my chest that causes a lil pressure and i have to burp to relieve it. And i feel better after i do .. I never have any acid feelings ..

And i havent eatten in days, but ive started, ive had so much anxiety the past few days that i think its making me never hungry. When i dont , i am again

And i had a bowel movement a few days ago that scared me alot cuz i felt like i was gunna pass out and ALOT came out , so thats another way my mind stops me from going, but im gunna take a laxative today, doubt there will be anything to come out though because i havent eatten alot .. I have prilosec perscription from a friend but have never used it because im scared it might cause stomach pain. And no i hardly ever have stomach pain.

But after i eat something, i always feel like its caught in the middle of my chest, like right where the chest meets the stomach. And again, over time as i burp more and more, it goes away .. Ill obv get it checked out in a few days, but anyone have an idea??

sounds like anxiety you just need to learn to breath I know sounds stupid but sometimes it helps and get busy take your mind off thinking all that is or could go wrong thats all I got God Bless And good Luck
You can have acid reflux even without that acidy feeling. If so, your esophagus may be swollen from acid erosion and food might get caught on the way down. You are not just imagining it, it's a very real and treatable condition. Go see a gastroenterologist, not a general practitioner. They tend to not know much about these things, or just brush them off.

Don't listen to people who tell you it's all in your head. You know your body and you know when something is wrong. My brother had this same problem and the doctor told him to "chew his food more slowly." Then one day food got caught in his swollen esophagus and he couldn't breathe. Luckily he found a doctor who took him seriously and he is totally fine now :)
sounds like there might be possiblity of a hiatal hernia--a small portion of your stomach pushes up past your diaphragm and food can get stuck there for a little while before it works its way down. did you have an egd as part of your workup? as with most uncomfortable sensations, anxiety can def. make it worse. prilosec is one of the meds frequently used to treat the symptoms; it often helps stomach pain--i've not heard of it CAUSING stomach pain.
There are a lot of reasons that can happen. Generally it is called Dysphagia. That is not the disease it is the symptom. You need to have an upper endoscopy by a gastroenterologist. Happens to me a lot also. I was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Its very rare and they will need to take a biopsy of the esophagus during the endoscopy. Anxiety and depression can also cause dysphagia.
Good Luck.
I agree with Cowpin. I have EE, unfortunately. This post is really old but thought I'd chime in.
Your problem sounds like something I had about ten years ago when all my food felt like it piled up in my esophagus and wouldn't move into my stomach fast enough, especially heavy foods like hamburger or peanut butter. I went to a gastric doctor and he put a scope down into my stomach. He found that the ring that's at the end of the esophagus where it enters the stomach had closed in enough that my food did not enter my stomach very well and backed up in my esophagus. they have a procedure where they cut the ring and widen the opening into the stomach, it's painless and it works instantly. I have not had that problem again. This might be your problem.
I wonder if that could be my problem. I've just been living with it. Sometimes when I eat and even drink water, it feels like the food is stuck between my throat and the upper chest. I usually put my head back and sometimes I get scared because it's stuck there. It eventually goes down though.
You may have a condition which is becoming much more widespread... EE or
Eosino Esophagitis. This condition causes the stuck in the throat symptoms and can
lead to sharp pains in the chest. Eosinophils are a white blood cell functioning
part of your immune system and they are sent to the esophagus to protect against an allergic reaction. To determine the cause of the symptoms you would likely get scoped and a small biopsy taken to determine the level of eosinophils in the tissue. They will also look for telltale rings in the esophagus which are caused by the condition. EE is mostly caused by food allergies but also by airborne allergies. Hope you don't have it.
sounds like stricture in the throat i have this also from acid reflux you have to have it dilated - painful but worth it to be able to eat again go Now and do it or pay more later on when food really does get stuck there
Hi.iv only joined this site because of your problem as I'm going through it right now
I have EXACTLY The same as you.i woke up at 3am and nearly passed out(horrible feeling)and everytime I eat I feel the weight on top of stomach area.and burp alot.i even get the feeling when I bend forward.iv had this for 6 months now.iv been to the doctors several times, but they bomb me off with laxs(now losing way to much weight)and some omperzole for the acid in chest.
Iv changed diet,more exercise.done everything.
So please reply to me and tell me if it's gone and how you did it.
Thanks
You really need to see a gastroenterologist. Some common problems that cause this symptom- narrowing of the cardiac sphincter that separates the stomach from esophagus. This is usually caused by reflux of acid into the esophagus which over time causes scarring and skrinkage of the sphincter. You could have a hiatal hernia as well. You need tests done to see what is causing this, and if they do a scope and find a stricture, they can stretch it out and your symptoms will instantly be gone. People also get esophageal spasm (usually painful) and tumors of the esophagus. These usually occur in mid-age or older, but nevertheless, essential to make sure there is no tumor.
Stricture is call Schotsky's Ring, and is very common. Anti reflux meds can help prevent these, and should be started after you see Dr and get a diagnosis.
