I kinda think your bloating problem is stemming from the samething mine is; Nerves.

I've been going through A LOT of stress all year - whether I like to admit it or not I know my intestines have to be really knotted up (meaning I've been tense & so has my intestinal walls). Unfortunately, I also believe that if you've gone through enough stress for a chronic period of time that it takes it's toll on your body.

The stress I've been under has been pretty well lifted very recently but I'm still bullet riddled. I can tell I'm feeling better in the area of my intestines because I haven't bloated for the first time in almost 5 days straight. That is a record for me. However, I did do something I shouldn't have done earlier this afternoon I ate a nutty butty treat that has milk chocolate & sugar wafer in it. That caused me to bloat. Try to stay away from sugar. If you've worn your intestinal walls out with stress it makes it very difficult for you to digest certain foods. I went online & did a search for foods that are difficult to digest because I learned those foods cause bloating. If you'll do a search for those foods you'll find bread & pork at the top of the list. I cut all the foods on that list out and have noticed a tremendous improvement. BTW, my bloating discomfort is exactly where you describe your's as being and I KNOW WELL the fear of it being your heart. It's not but it can sure cause you to worry even more and that just compounds the dgestive problem.

If you cut those hard to digest foods out, I'd be very interested in hearing how that works for you. Good luck
Thanks, Barbara Ann! I hope you continue feeling better!

I have been taking Zantac 150, as prescribed by my doctor. It has helped, I think. For about 5 days, up until earlier this afternoon, I was bloat-free! I had some other problems - anxiety, restlessness, muscular pain and I was very easily winded - but things were better! Until this afternoon. :(

Bloating returned, plus sharp pains in my neck and shoulders and chest, and a very frightening sensation of pressure in my chest. There was one really bad hour, sandwiched between two hours that were pretty bad but manageable. I had trouble breathing, my muscles hurt everywhere, and I was so restless. I had no idea what to do - lie in bed, sit at my desk, sit on the toilet, stand in the bathroom? Everything felt equally awful. I am still feeling very achy. I took some Pepto when things got really bad, and maybe it did something. I don't know.

I have an EGD on Wednesday. I'm not sure if they'll find anything. I kind of hope they do. I'm uninsured so it will be super expensive. I'm worried that my problem requires a colonoscopy instead of an endoscopy. :(

I feel like I'm walking a fine line when it comes to eating. I've felt bad when full and felt bad on an empty stomach. I've also felt bad when I thought I was somewhere in between! So far it seems like processed foods - box cereals, pop tarts, canned soup, wheat thins, etc - are a lot harder to deal with than more natural foods - boiled potatoes, homemade chicken stew, corn on the cob. I'm going to try and eat less processed food, it's just that it's so much cheaper and more convenient to eat stuff out of boxes and cans half the time.
