... Hi Acutdan, I appreciate your response. The liver levels were approximately 3 X the upper normal limit (AST and ALT were approximately 150 - 160). The pancreatic enzymes were marginally high at approximately 6 - 10 points over the upper limit (amylase and lipase). Given my history my primary was a little concerned. I had a gastric bypass in 2001 and lost about 120 lbs..... (5 replies)

... Toots, Your symptoms sound like gallbladder problems instead of an alcohol problem? What did the ultrasound show? and --What are your other stomach problems? As you may know Zetia works in your intestines to reduce cholesterol whereas statins drugs work in your liver. As you know Liver enzyme ALT(SGPT) normal range is 19 to 71 U/L so 119 is high. There's a whole lot of stuff to look at---these things seem to manifest themselves in different ways. I hope you do a search and learn more about them---and I'd check a "rare diseases" and "clinical trials" websites. Good luck with everything. (10 replies)
