... So my CT scan showed a completely opacified left maxillary sinus & some opacification of other parts of the sinuses. But the nasopharynx was completely open, no problems.

i have the exact same problem i think. i can feel mucus in the back of my nose or sinus area all the time which makes me snort really hard to get the junk outta my mouth if that sense i do it like so many times day its driving me crazy. a lot of the time the mucus i snort up is green yellow coloured or brown . ... I have had a similar sensation in the nasopharynx area for at least 15 years now, minus the snorting issue (although I think it's the same problem - I just keep trying to swallow instead of snorting). ... Both my husband and I suffer with this condition and we have had NO colds.
I myself am constantly hacking/clearing my throat and often bring up clear Phlegm. I feel it is caused by Post-Nasal-Drip and also climatic conditions.
I find it worse in the winter months going outside from central-heated home to damp/cold conditions.
