I first started to have some problems with speaking. I noticed that I couldn't speak when I was trying to say certain things. Doctors checked me out and said I was fine. All of a sudden I had a grand mal seizure that was witnessed (and I have absolutely no memory of it) and was put on dilantin. I took it for about a month and got off it.

I may have had another seizure in my sleep (I believe I did).

Nine months later I had a grand mal again and 15 hours later another both were witnessed and this time I am put keppra.

I don't like to take drugs and I can't stand the fact that doctors are so quick to put me on drugs and are so quick to treat the systems. But I do need to be able to drive my car and I don't want anymore seizures.

Does anyone know if I should be on Keppra and it's a good drug?

Does my scenario sound like what anyone else have had and if there are any alternatives to the prescription drugs?

Does anyone know of any really good doctors in Southern California area?
