... Not at all. I have been on medication since I was a child, I have used homeopathy for about 8 years. I just don't want persons reading statements to think down the wrong path.
I've been on a number of meds (still am), so I know the drill that a lot of us have gone through.

... Travis...dude...I put it in quotations. I didn't mean a literal cure. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Do you like search this website for the word "cure" and paste that response? oh I shouldn't joke...but I will choose my words more carefully from now on. Sorry. (7 replies)
... Yakub, I am VERY cautious using the "c" word, meaning Cure or cured. People tend to think it is a "quick fix" when they see it in print. Medications or other treatments (natural for example) even surgery are VERY RARELY a "cure". They are "treatments" (i.e. used to prevent a problem). The word "cure" implies it will remove the problem (to repair, to fix, bring back to a... (7 replies)
... I was diagnosed with epilepsy after having a grand mal seizure at the age of 12. A few years later, whilst still trying to find the appropriate medication, I forget what it's called...but doctors attached a ton of wires to my head and gave me a battery pack and sent me home for a few days. they reviewed the data from the pack and found out I was also having multiple absence... ... Hi there,
My daughter (now 8) had all the boxes ticked for tests for ADHD by her teachers, doctor and myself. We were discussing with the paediatrician what our next course of action would be when daughter (then 6yrs old) piped up and said to the Paed "Sometimes when I am in class I see great big blobs of colours floating around". This sparked the interest of the doctor... (7 replies)
... Momcat, Topamax is used to treat migraines frequently. Did they also diagnose her with a separate neurological issue as well? The big advantage of Topamax is it is not one of the narcotics that were often used that tend to fog up your mind and make you drowsy. Just be careful and watch the eating. Topamax plays with the mind making us think we are not hungry.

... I initially thought from what my teen daughter was describing to me that she might have ADD. She hadn't really shown the typical signs as a young child, but there is a family history of it, so it seemed a good possiblity. After first being diagnosed with migraines and then having changes and additions to her symptoms, she was refered to a neurologist and her pediatric doctor... (7 replies)

... Lisa, I do not see how any doc could totally disregard what may be seizures without any testing such as EEG at the very least. Epilepsy is diagnosed by 1- Having more than one/recurrent seizures; 2-A description of the seizures by you and/or a witness; OR 3- by EEG. Even if they did an EEG and it comes back normal still does not Rule out Eplepsy. Not at all. I'm tellimng you,... (7 replies)
... First, let me say that if you are having auras you are still having seizure activity. An aura really is a simple partial seizure. It reminds me of the pull of a trigger in a since and sets things in motion. Waaay down the road with my epilepsy, I begin to have what I called flashes. they consisted of that same strange Simple Partial feeling but was only a few seconds long.... (11 replies)
... o the Cleveland clinic, but it is a good place to start. I say that because patients who have been treted there have good things to say about their Comprehensive Eplepsy Program. Sounds like that is what you need most of all. I,too, saw many general neuros over a lot of years, and I consider that a real waste. ... (1 replies)
