ok... i dont want to bore anyone but i would just like to tell you my story and see if anyone can help me...

it all started 2 years back in grade 10, where i was working as a dishwasher at a restaurant near my house... a year or so later i got this bump on my lower left eyelid and thought it was a stye... i let it go and then before i knew it my eyes were bumpy and swollen everywhere... i went to the doctors and he sent me to an eye doctor... he said i had chalazia, and that it was getting caused by the greasey environment from my work... so i had surgery on my left eye, and it got better... i then made an appointment for surgery on my right eye, which was not as bad as the left one was at the time... during that surgery he asked if i was still working at the greasy place, and i told him i still was... after that surgery my right eye was still bad...

well i decided to quit my job, and so i was off for a good 3 months... with my right eye still bumpy on the lower right, and my left eye pretty calm

i went back for surgery for a third time and he told me the chalazia may be caused from blepharitis... he gave me a pamphlet and then i went under the knife again... it probably hurt the most that surgery, and yet again two weeks after the surgery when the redness went away, i still had a smaller version of my chalazia on my lower right eyelid...

for about 7 months my left eye has been beautiful, and my right eye with just a bump in the lower lid with it a little more swelled then my left lower lid...with the odd occasion i will get a little swelling or irritation that will make like a red spot, and a little bit of swelling, but that goes away withing a few days (4-7)... i have kept track of the schedules of my eyes and it was at a point where my eyes would not act up for a good three weeks, then i would have a week of swelling or a little somethnig on one of the eyelids... it was no big deal cuz they would eventually go back to the way they were again - normal left eye and just lower bump on lower right eye, with it swelled a bit more than the left lower eye... it was noticable but i was happy with the way they were

however, all this time only my right eye has burned, and irritated everyday... like if a smell a strong scent of colgone or perfume my eye waters and/or irritates... if i eat any greasy foods my eye irritates/burns me... any bright sunlight irritates my eyes too... i think i have become very socially declined or whatever it is called as i have a fear of going out in public in fear of how everyone will judge me :(

anyways, this past week has probably been the worst... my left eye swelled in the corner, the worst place for it to swell, and now it is finally down to just a white head, which i am grateful for... i am thinking this is only a stye... however my right eye which was already a little swelled and bumpy, just inflamed some more, and there is a white head poking from the inside, and white bump on the outside... i know afetr a few days it will go down to the way it was again, but i can not stand the pain of this one anymore so i am yet again, going to the walkin clinic tonight... i am at the point where all i want to do is sleep and/or stay in bed, out of the sight of others, especially the public... im sure anyone who has had this or has this know how i am feeling right now, and i know it will pass as they get better but its still just how i am feeling right now...

so to my questions, if anyone can answer them, i heard there is no permanent treatment for blepharitis/chalazia... does this mean they will always come and i will always have to treat them?!?... or does this mean that if you take care of them and do the eye scrubs and eye compressions that they will not come back, but u can not stop the scrubs and compressions because then they will come back, as they are always there?

also is it possible to get your eyes to be normal?... me... all i want is for them to be painfree and not to be as sensitive to light/scents/heat... i could care less if they are a little puffy as long as they are just not beat red :(

i also found a site that claims it treats chalazia, www.chalazion.com im sure others have seen it and/or tried it, but does it really work?... i was looking into buyingone of the trials of homeopathy to see if it really works because the doctors really dont seem to care at all as they just see chalazia as a 'cosmetic disorder' or whatever... when really it hurts like hell when they form...

well i guess that is it... two years later and im still in the same position i was when i first got them... cluelless as to how to treat them... my eye doctor said time would heal them and i have waited a while, and yet they just keep coming back and disappearing, throwing me through moods of depression and moods of happiness...

my action plan is to go to the clinic tonight, then book one more surgery appointment... cut the lower right eyelid again and then look to forms that are nonsurgical, as the homeopathy site..... and will consistently do the eyescrubs, as my doctor didnt really talk about them... he just said to compress...

any other suggestions? they would be greatly appreciated

if u read all this i am thankful, and if u didnt that is alright...

thank you for your time

Paul
