In September of 2012 I had a retinal detachment surgery on my right eye. Following the surgery, I was diagnosed with a Macular Pucker which I then had surgery to correct in Dec of 2012. After the surgery, I was still experiencing waviness and seeing things larger and slightly up and over - hard to explain. After these surgeries I developed a cataract and had surgery for that in April of 2013. I now clearly see that I have double vision. I read and work on the computer (my job), drive and watch TV with one eye closed. I have terrible depth perception and walk into things a lot. My retinal specialist just keeps saying that he is really pleased with his work to which I finally replied "that makes one of us." I decided to have a second opinion and went to Mayo Clinic retina specialist and he concurred with my original DR that the detachment fix was good and the best he could offer was to have my glass lens fogged. Since then I have read about scotch tape etc - really?
After doing some more research, I think maybe I should have tried to find an Ophthalmologist with experience in this area. I am continuing to do research on this but am wondering if anyone knows of any specialists in the midwest US who specializes in this. I just feel like there should be something besides what I have been told. Any help would be appreciated.
