... Well SammyBoy, I, too, am legally blind in one eye due to ambliopia (20/400 corrected). It is my understanding that if this condition is not corrected at an early age, it cannot be corrected. The vision problem may have started simply as weak muscles causing this, but vision also requires signals to the brain. It would be great if simply exercizes or some other treatment... (6 replies)

I was born with ambliopia, which is to my understanding a weakness in the eye muscle. I can see out of it somewhat. ... I am 30 yrs old and I have ambliopia. It was detected when I was 5 . Well I remember going through the colored glasses watching tv therapy. I also wore a patch over my good eye. It was too late though to correct with those exercises. I was wondering if there is any treatment for adults with this. (3 replies)
... I have duplopia (sp?) caused by my ambliopia. My understanding is that it is unusual to have an onset of double vision like you describe without it being caused by either MS, some sort of nerve palsy or TIA/Stroke. For people with duplopia caused by ambliopia or a large difference in prescription b/w their eyes, the double vision gets better and worse based on time of day... (6 replies)
