... Hi Everyone, I have had a recent flareup of Blepharitis,I wasn't even sure thats what it was because it just felt like I had something in my eye that I couldn't get out. My Opthamologist wasn't there when I went in so I saw an associate. He told me he couldn't see anything in my eye and the drops he put in would have removed anything in my eye any way. He said I was just... (13 replies)

... Hi Cheryl, I have had Blepharitis for 10 years,I contracted it while in the hospital for surgery. I was just as confused and upset as you feel. I went to the doctor and he gave me allergy eye drops and the pharmacist told me to check things like my shampoo and just about everything. Well, then I got some very good advice and went to an Opthomologist, he checked my eyes... (13 replies)

... Yes it is a long road and I still feel like somedays its not going to get better but it will. Its the sites like this that help oneanother cope with such a horrable condition. I have missed alot of work due to this condition, and if it wasent for the help of a good dr I wouldent know what to do. ... Exactly, all I get from the people I work with is " oh they look ok " My doctor has been very good though and he has signed me off for the last 3 weeks so I can get to grips with it all which has helped loads. Have finished my arsenicum course of tablets now and am finding that my eyes are much much better, I had a problem yesterday with swollen eyelids but they seem to be... (13 replies)

... I'm glad something seems to be helping. It's a shame that we can't take off of work for dry, irritated eyes like we can for any other illness. I mean, I don't know about you, but nobody where I work considers it to be a real problem even though it most certainly is! (13 replies)

... Thanks for that. It is interesting to know the different ways that people do it and also to find out which one helps me the most. As stated before, I went and saw my homeopath yesterday and she prescribed me arsenicum (arsenic) which I have taken just 2 doses of and yet I have seen some improvement already. My eyes were not so swollen and not so sticky so I live in hope. I... (13 replies)

... To do the lid massage, I lay my index finger acorss the top of my eyelid and close my eye and roll my finger down, pressing gently all the way, trying to express the oil in the glands. Next, take the tip of your finger and rub in a circular motion at the base of your eyelashes, with your eye closed. (13 replies)

... To be honest I feel I have had no support from the doctor, or from the hospital. All the consultant at the hospital told me to do was to massage my eyelids (but he didn't show me how, I had to find out myself from other sites on the internet) and to clean them 3 times a day with bicarbonate of soda mixed with water. This was sort of helping, and I was using a hot flannel every... (13 replies)

... Hello, I too have blepharitis and I can relate to your story. I have been dealing with it for 10 months and I am still feeling along way from being normal again. Did he tell you what kind of blepharitis you have. With mgd you have to do a lid massage to really get it to help. I have been told by many including my dr that this condition takes months even a year or more to get... (13 replies)
