I just tried to give the whole picture in summary form (so people don't have to assume things on their own) and, believe me, this is only the tip of the iceberg.
Bottom line: has anyone experienced double vision AFTER silicone oil injection (vitrectomy) and if so, how did you correct it?

... Do you know if you had a 25G vitrectomy or a standard 'pars planar' vitrectomy (with stitches)? Was it done only for the purpose of removing the vitreous or was there any other aspect to the surgery? If it was only to remove the vitreous, there should be no complications. (10 replies)

Mine was done by the 25G method and I was very pleased to avoid the stiches and the other side effects. On the other hand, I did have micro-surgery on the retina and that will apparently take months to heal. (10 replies)
