... Hi, I think you owe it to yourself to get proper prescription eyeglasses.
Here in Australia, the eye test is fully rebated by Medicare, and the optician is obligated to return the prescription to you if you request it. That's the law. You can ask for the prescription and walk out of the shop. They don't like it but have to do it. Then, on the internet it's relatively easy to... (4 replies)

... I'm not an expert in optics but, from experience, I would say that it is to be expected that the smaller the lens the more critical is has to be for astigmatism because the lens grinder has to effectively squash the correction into a smaller space. However, if your acuity improves simply by turning the lens, that does suggest something is not quite correct. It could just be... (3 replies)

... Josie: I'm now retired from optics but can tell U that alot of #'s & know-how
go in to glasses. The 'whole Rx' is considered & takes knowledge. The
cylinder reading on written rx is the astigmatism + axis. If hi # & off axis,
the astig. changes. If U tilt frame-front wrong, it changes rx. Hi-astig. needs
to be ground on a base-curve that matches what U were use to. It's... (10 replies)
