... ind you this was all back in 1986, so things may have change since then. But at the time yes, a gas buble was placed in the eye to hold the retina in place, and I had to be face down until the bubble disappeared. HaHA! Had this done 3 times in a row, as the detachment surgeries died work till the 4th one. ... (9 replies)

... I had laser procedures in both eyes for diabetic retinopathy, almost a year before cataracter surgeries 2 wks apart. If you don't have too much scarring and macular degeneration, most people can see well immediately. For some it gradually gets better and better. ... (11 replies)
