... Hi Kerry, It was at least about four months before the redness went down to the level they are at now. It was bloodshot where my residual veins were, and where the doctor sewed my eye after he removed the pingueculum. I didn't have a graft put in. My eye was just pulled shut together after the ping was cut off. Since then, my the ping in my other eye has grown, along... (33 replies)

There's lots of information about this kind of "eye bump" on the internet, so it would be easy for you to do a search. Hope everything turns out okay and you don't have to have surgery. Good luck! ... around it. This is also what freaks me out, as I'm afraid that these blood vessels mean that the pingueculum will grow into a pterygium. My doctor said that pinguecula do not grow into pterygia, but just about everything I've read on the internet suggests otherwise. ... (7 replies)

... Hi Biotech, Thanks so much for your response! The pinguecula in my right eye appeared about a year ago; the only reason I noticed it is because it had a big inflamed blood vessel in it, so I thought I had some kind of abrasion to my eye. The one in my left eye appeared about 3 months ago, and though small, is very irritating. The weird thing is, I've never really spent any... (7 replies)

... Hi - I think what you have is something called a "pingueculum" or "pinguecula". They are very common in people with dry eyes or people who do lots of stuff outdoors (sun damage). But my ophthalmologist told me I had probably had it for years and just never really... (5 replies)
