My shimmering issue was a one-time event - in the waiting room. My TSH at that time was 0.06, with slightly elevated T4/T3 numbers. Six months later, my TSH was 0.16 (just shy of the 0.20 minimum "normal").

My guess is that you were behind the wheel driving without taking a significant amount of time to rest your eyes and you experienced extreme eye strain from dry eyes. The other possible scenario is that you developed a migraine (you do not have to have a headache to experience a migraine) due to being overly tired. I actually just experienced one this morning....
