... Wow, there are a many, many causes of dry eyes. There is actually a sticky post at the top of this board which goes into it in more detail. If you havent already done so - take a look, it should give you a better understanding. You could rule out the blocked tear duct by making an appointment to see a doc - they will be able to check for this. It could happen in both... (11 replies)

... Hi, First I would stop using the visine. If you need to put something in there, just go for an artificial tears drop. It will sooth, but not loaded with agrravating chemicals. Or you can rinse with an eye wash. Keep your fingers out of your eye, unless they are thoroughly clean...and I mean clean. You could introduce bacteria into the eye and cause worse problems. See...
