... I have been looking into it but not sure how efficient web based advice on behavioral Opthalmology can be. Seems that there are a few who have significantly improved their myopia with this program. ... (0 replies)
... tubint: Yeah, once these eye troubles (cat+RD+cat/vit sx) started happening to me I have been reading voraciously about them with whatever I can get my hands on - via internet, as well as, sometimes medical books in the local university, library or book-store...of course, with whatever eye is functionally working at that time :). Although it satisfies my curiosity about these... (66 replies)
... Hi Vitcat, Thanks so much for your reply. I'm trying not to worry about the cataract surgery, and any post stuff that happens, just want to be informed about possibilities. I'll be so glad when it's over. Thanks again for your reply, eyemar (5 replies)

... If you are going to have a cat sx after your vit. sx has already been done, then still the possibility of a "secondary cataract" may still exist in that eye, I think, as a risk factor after any cat. sx. Remember, this is a possibility, not a certainty. In my case, my right eye had a secondary cataract, but the left eye did not, although both had a cat. sx one month apart, some... (5 replies)
... Hi Vitcat, Thanks for that reply. I wondering if after I have my cataract surgery, since I am post vitrectomy, if I will have to have that YAG surgery also. Do you have any thoughts/ideas about that? hope you hear from you, eyemar (5 replies)
... I found a couple of "root-causes" from seemingly authentic web-sites: With face-up position the air-bubble floats on the top and touches the lens side, of course, and not the macula on the backside of the retina. When that happens, 1. The air touches the posterior (backside) capsular bag that holds the natural lens; this can somehow lead to accelerated formation of... (5 replies)
... In trying to get to the root cause of my visual distortion issues after the macular RD repair, I have learned a couple of things from the web which may, perhaps, help others in giving some sort of closure to their problems (perhaps, not): The change in image size, sometimes called as micropsia/macropsia, can come from the "change in distance between the cones in the fovea."... ... patients, "Metabolic draininge problem". It's slow draining out even for normal patients. Isn't actually even licensed for eyes. See Web M.D., I think is where I read that. ... (3 replies)
... I started seeing black web like things on Sunday and went to the Opth today. He told me that behind the eye is a jel connected to the retina and a piece of the jel had broke loose. ... (7 replies)
... Just to clarify: 1. You say: it "does not move unless I look around but it is always in the same spot even when I move my eye." Just to clarify. Does it move at all when you look around? For example, when you look all the way to the left, does it move to the left, or is it still in the right part of your vision regardless of where you look? 2. Is it in both eyes, or... (16 replies)
... Hi mishman I'm quite sure the visual disturbances will be annoying (and sometimes amusing):dizzy: for a long time. As it's not life-threatening and seemingly impossible to find a cause I'm not expecting some effective treatment anytime soon either! Although whilst web-browsing on astronomy websites my husband read an article about spending time outside in the dark helps with... (16 replies)
... t said it's well known that opthalmologists have been using it for something like 30 years because it works for some people. I think it was Mayo Clinic or Web MD that said it's not for hypothyroid people. Something about Metabolic Drainage Problem. ... (33 replies)
... My cataract surgery is next week too...no toric, but just monofocal Tecnis ZCB00. I only have .75 astigmatism and have had previous retinal surgery on this eye, so didn't think the additional benefit of the Toric lens would do me much good. Sorry I couldn't be of more help...I do know your quandary with these critical decisions as you have to live with the result the rest of... (7 replies)
... I am considering canceling the Toric and going with the standard lens implant, due to a lack of info on the web from patients post op point of view. ... (7 replies)
