... I also took Amtryptilene for a while, not only did it give me horrible dry mouth, it gave me hallucinations. Never will I take it again! As for the dry mouth, you can get Biotene spray, they also have the biotene mouthwash and toothpaste, most drugstores have it, I got it at Walmart. The spray really helps with dry mouth. ... RStarre, I have had good success with Valerian. The first bottle I had the suggested amount was 3 capsules. I am sorry I don't remember the mg that they are though. So I have used 3 at a time , making sure that they are always that same MG. I really do find that it helps me alot...and there are NO bad effects at all! I was on amytriptaline for a year..and then nortriptyline for a couple months....I gained 20 pounds..and had dry mouth that was causing peridontal issues...and I was waking up at night, 2 to 10 times!
