... ocol. If you take this med, you cycle off the junk that is causing the FMS. It does take time to work, but time passes anyway. I do not need to take any other medication other than Armour thyroid. I no longer suffer from muscle spasms, sleepless nights, IBS, IC, migraines, etc. ... (8 replies)
... I am currently on valium and flexeril for muscle spasms, and maybe on the valium a little bit for anxiety which leads to stress which leads to more spasms. ... (8 replies)
... I have had severe muscle spasms for many years. Since 2000. I've also had pain from a disability and have been under the care of pain management since 2000. ... (9 replies)

... ith my liver, made my enzymes rise and caused more fatigue and right quadrant pain. So be sure you don't have problems with your liver. I now take baclofen for muscle tightness. Right now I am working on trying 30mgs. at night and 10 during the day. If I take a more effective muscle relaxer at night I sleep better. ... (8 replies)

... sensations all over my body for about 2 weeks now. First let me tell you that before I experienced all this I had a very bad cold that turned into asthma. ... to increase the dosage for a few months when all of the discs in my neck ruptured and my head was stuck to one side because the nerve was compressed causing the muscle to stay contracted on one side. ... swer, tell your doctor to prescribe Valium instead of Xanax. It's not as strong as Xanax but has pretty much the same tranquilizing properties, and it's the best muscle relaxant anybody knows of. It helps me a lot with fibro and its knots and muscle spasms. ... (9 replies)
... I agree with cherdox57 although, I myself, am a pain med user. I have previous posts on the fact that I am convinced that the pain meds make my pain much worse unless I keep on and on and on taking them! When they begin to wear off, I get SEVERE, debilitating muscle spasms that cause deep pain for days/weeks... It's a double edge sword.... you hurt if you don't take them... (227 replies)
... I take Lexapro for the depression, Trazodone for sleep, Plaquinil for inflammation, Mobic for less severe pain, and Darvocet for the really bad days, but the Darvocet doesn't work nearly as well as it used to. (8 replies)
... Celebrex never worked well for me either. The only COX-2 that worked for me and both my parents was Vioxx. We all got mad when the FDA pulled it without a valid reason. Zanaflex can cause extreme drowsiness in the beginning. Most people do get used to that though and it recedes a bit. I know I don't get near as sleepy as I used to, but I still prefer to take it at night.... (8 replies)
... Texmom - watch out for that tizanidine. I slept a year of my life away on that stuff before I realized what was causing the extreme drowsiness. It is great to take at bedtime and it works well but the drowsiness can be a hefty pricetag esp when you already have trouble with fatigue. (8 replies)
... I have been on most of the spasm meds. Flexeril made me very sleepy and did not work well for me. I would have to say that Zanaflex(tizanidine) 4mg (1-2 pills every 4-6hours)and baclofen (20mg every 8 hours) work the best for me! I take baclofen during the day because it does not make me tired. I take 2 zanaflex at bedtime because it really, really helps me sleep. (8 replies)
... I don't understand why docs continue to prescribe Flexeril for us. Zanaflex works so much better. See about trying that one. (8 replies)
... I also get twitches or muscle spasms in my legs and thighs. It's not a side effect of any medication, since I used to get those before I started taking any medication for fibro. I'm currently taking Plaquenil and Neurontin. ... (19 replies)
