Foot & Ankle Problems Board Index

I absolutely concur that one needs to research all options! I'm sorry you had to go to Singapore to find what you felt was the right answer. I had dueling opinions on my recent foot surgery. Both were from highly qualified, recommended ortho surgeons who are Foot & Ankle Board certified. One wanted to do a big toe fusion, the other a joint replacement. Both options were appropriate and and I could see the benefits of each. Both surgeons felt either option was OK. I finally picked the fusion due to my age and recovery time even though I would lose some functionality that the replacement would have given me. I went with the surgeon who was more comfortable doing the procedure I decided I wanted. And I think that's the key. I'm really surprised you couldn't find a qualified surgeon in Philly to do your chosen procedure. And after 4 foot surgeries, I haven't found an ortho here who would refer anyone to a pod for surgery that involves bone. And I've never heard of one either.
