Thank Debbie!

Today is my 27th day.
Well, last night I did go to the wine bar! I don't even know where to start! Well lets start with the fact that i didn't put a sneaker on, I left my surgical sandal on. I lessened the layers of my bandage by wrapping it around my leg so I could put a sock on. My bosses insisted that they get me a cap halfway to and from and they paid for it, I am thankful for this but tried to argue against them for paying my fare! My boss asked when I am coming back, and i said I need to talk to you about that, in fact i didn't have to, he said we thought it was too soon for you! How nice?! :o They've already organised my cover! It was so nice to see them all, and I felt that i have progressed even more than I thought! I found myself heel walking on the bus without any crutches! I guess when you are stuck at home, you don't push yourself within acceptable limits. Being surrounded by friends and colleagues was worth the night out and I really missed them! I had so much fun, and I really would like to emphasise how important it is that you socialise during your recovery, it really helps in more ways than you can imagine. Of course I was afraid of the traveling but I was very careful.

My foot was down for most of that day and evening but the swelling, to my surprise was minimal, this could because since my surgery i always had it elevated, and since week 3, I put it down to do the ankle twists and then elevated again. I have been sleeping right through the night since week 3.5. the last three days it started itching and today, right now has been the worse, and i will not scratch it, but I'm very tempted!

Tonight, I will remove the bandages, my surgeon said i don't have to put them back on anymore, but I might wrap a thin layer to prevent the toe from bending back into it's position, because i have read stories where their bunions returned. I will be taking a bath tonight! Such a relief but I am quite afraid of how it will feel, will it burn? I will be very careful getting in and out of the bath, I do not want to fall nor slip!

Any question please ask.

Thank you
:)
