... doing is ultrasound to heal scar tissue and using a whirlpool hot tub machine to soak my foot in to reduce swelling. I can walk a little in the boot now with one crutch and for baby steps I can limp without it. I don't know what to do with the velocity ankle brace I was given though. ... (3 replies)
... I had flat foot reconstruction a few years ago, and the recovery is a long and tough road. For me, the pain was quite tolerable, but I was surprised when I transitioned from cast to boot (and weightbearing), some pain returned (makes sense, just wasn't expecting it). ... I am SO GLAD that the new PT is working out. A 4 prong cane seemed kind of weird to me; it's not usually the first thing therapists go to. I'm glad that you have someone who is more realistic about working from where you are instead of pushing toward meeting unreasonable goals. ... hope that it heals quickly and is not too bad, but it's good to see your doctor just in case. Set backs can be so frustrating, especially when we sometimes take baby steps each day.
