... OK, am very confused here but would like to try to help. First of all, hallux rigidus (that the proper spelling) is not a bunion. The surgeries for the two are different. What is the name of the procedure you were supposed to have and the one you actually had? For hallux rigidus it is usually a cheilectomy, with or without hardware, or a fusion wher the toe is fixed in... (19 replies)

... I guess it depends on the severity of the bunions. If your doctor thinks you'll be able to bear some weight quickly on post surgical feet (and if you have some good help for the first weeks), I'd get it over with. If you're like some of us, who end up NWB in a plaster cast on one foot for 6-8 weeks, then NO way would I get both done at once! You'd be immobile! It's a matter of... (4 replies)

... ell here I am 4 days post op. I had my bandages changed yesterday and everything looked good. I ended up staying in the hospital until Saturday night. I had a bad reaction to the antibiotic the gave me in my IV. They had to put me completely under during surgery, and I reacted badly to this also. ... (27 replies)

... Hi all. Megan, my foot is feeling some better otday, but the previous 3 days it just plain hurt more, and MUCH more in the first few minutes I got up and about. It would actually stop me from moving it hurt so bad. ... tis after having both sesamoids taken out and hammering away at the joint with each step. I am now almost 12 weeks post great toe fusion because the pain was so bad I couldnt live my everyday life and that was my only option. ... Wait until my first foot heals completely. Fortunatelly, my second foot doesn't hurt THAT bad and he's given me orthotics to slow down the bunion's development. I'm guessing I'll have my second foot done in a year or so. ... (7 replies)
