I am absolutely scared to death of this surgery because I don't know how I will walk with a cast (non-weight bearing) for 5 weeks. Anyone out there have this experience? How did it go? ... i thought i had a lapidus but i just saw my records today and the procedure i had was something along the lines of a "base wedge osteotomy" and bunionectomy. my bunion was pretty severe, 18 or 19 degree angle and the second toe was lifted up and sat on top of the big toe. ... (11 replies)

Hi, When I had my surgery last year, I had a local in the Drs office for the first surgery, Yes I heard and actually watched everything, It was like going to the dentist lots of shots in the foot to numb me up really good, and off we went back to the table, I listened to head phones for the most part but did not feel a thing of course, and actually kinda sat up and watched...
