He did say that 2 percent will still have pain after the fusion and nothing can be done about it and 5 percent end up with an infection in the toe which would require another surgery and removing the hardware then treating the infection and put the hardware back in. ... ... tiny feet with tiny bones and big manly screws don't work well all the time. SInce it's the end joint they may want it more protected with a cast and then the boot but you should be able to walk on it easily. ... (5 replies)
