... Never NWB because you basically are in the Aircast- as you have found out it doesn't put pressure on that joint. So I walked into the house fromthe hospital. I did borrow a walker which helped me learn to navigate with the air cast on with an ice pack on top of it for the first couple of days. But I was done with it pretty shortly....None of my surgeons have believed in NWB... (7 replies)

... Evidently, my sesamoids are arthritic and cheilectomy made it progress. Met with 3 orthos. One wanted to take both sesamoids out and fuse toe as it still has arthritis. Second wanted to take one sesamoid out and fuse. Third said fusion should stop movement of sesamoids, so no movement, no pain. ... (7 replies)

... I am 9 month post-op from the same surgery. 56 yr old female with arthritis.... The doctor can answer you question about heel height when you have fused the bone. I can get away with a inch to inch and a half comfortably now but I don't want to push it no further. Your foot will tell you right quick like what it will stand and when you go past the comfort height. It hurts... (3 replies)
