sorry to hear about your revision. I have used a bone stimulator too for a non-displaced fracture. Sometime I worry it will make extra bone grow too much on top of the hardware. Did you saw you surgeon thought infection risk goes up with more scar tissue? or just infection risk goes up because its a revision? (3 replies)

I am set to have a revision of my MTP (big toe) fusion on Feb 15th. It's a non-union and the metal plate is broken as well, so no real choice there. My surgeon said she's going to put something in the site to stimulate bone growth and we will use a bone growth... (3 replies)

... Never NWB because you basically are in the Aircast- as you have found out it doesn't put pressure on that joint. So I walked into the house fromthe hospital. I did borrow a walker which helped me learn to navigate with the air cast on with an ice pack on top of it for the first couple of days. ... The condition tends to get worse. Just before the surgery, I couldn't take any walks. Even a 10 min. walk was a problem. Also, once you are no longer flexible, the surgery becomes even more involved then it already is. There is all kinds of information on the internet about PTTD surgery.

... I had mine done in 2015 and did not have that issue. I have had the hardware removed because two of the screws were impinging on nerves. Have you talked with your surgeon about this? I would think he hasn't released you yet.
