... They fuse the joint in place together. Where it doesn't bend/no longer a joint, so you don't/can't have pain. It's done at an angle so that you can still walk, hike, jog and wear low heels, etc. Are you seeing a foot and ankle board certified ortho? If not, that's where you need to be.
