... An update: Today marks 3 weeks post-op for me (bilateral austin procedure). I saw the doctor yesterday and traded in the large, clumsy, astronaut-looking boots for smaller, surgical shoes. These shoes are much easier to walk in because they are much lighter, but since they are flimsier, I feel the broken toes more when I walk in them as opposed to the heavier boots (in which I... ... Congrats on your surgery :-) It sure is surprising to be walking out on the day on your surgery, but hey you did it! Probably should have taken 2 like my friends suggested, but I was afraid to since the Dr. didn't say I should. It really didn't matter much after the first few days anyway since by then all that was left was... (18 replies)

... I stopped taking Vicodin altogether at Day 5. I am now taking Aleve only. I actually think the Aleve is helping me more because of its anti-inflammatory effect. Vicodin was working, but also making me moody and really drowsy. It definitely helped me sleep through the night, but that's about it. HAve you tried another kind of pain med, like Aleve? It's probably a good idea to... (18 replies)

I switched to 1 vicodin every four and 1/2 hours when I saw my supply was getting low. It seems to be working just fine. Now I only have 3 left!! Yikes! I am so scared of feeling the pain. I am not sure what the game plan is. This is... (18 replies)
