... hehe im certainly no dancer....done a form of indian dancing wen I was younger but thats about it! shooting pains are pretty normal...they will go away with time. Itchy feet is also pretty normal(actually a good thing) prob means the scar is healing. just went to the dentists..I seem to be grinding my teeth at night...probably due to the stress of this blooming operation! ... I was feeling pretty normal by 12 weeks. I remember being on a family vacation around that point and going for a two mile walk with my sister. (I think I was walking a bit slower than normal, however.) I started a new teaching job 14 weeks after the surgery and felt totally fine by then. I had to be on my feet and up & down stairs a lot. ... Dennis, That's great. Never heard of it. Your surgery sounds like mine - I have a screw to straighten the toe as well. Then also have a pin in the next toe to correct the hammertoe, which will be removed. And then he stretched the ligament on back of my leg as well - all part of the biomechanical problems that led to the bunion, etc in the first place. So what is the... (8 replies)
... Wow, both feet! Your surgery was same day as mine. I had right bunion done along with a hammertoe next to it and stretching of ligament on back of right leg. I am doing well, but finding the immobility much harder than I thought. I find the crutches and walker hard to use because they hurt. You must have more upper body strength. Did you go back to work? He said the chevron would be much quicker healing as I would be able to put weight on my heels and that I could do both at once if I wanted too but he would not do a double lapidus.
