One thing you can do for pain is take a partially filled water bottle and freeze it and use it to roll under the arch of your foot after exercising and when its hurting. It really helped me. Large toe implants

... Hm...Flip flops really aren't great shoes for those of us with foot/ankle problems,but there are some that aren't terrible! Birkenstocks are the first that come to mind,Teva,Rainbows,and Chacos are the next ones.Crocs brand also makes some flip flops...I don't know how much atch support they have though,but I'm guessing it's a fair amount considering their other shoes.
