Sprained Ankle

... Hi Carol, I just wanted to clarify one thing in my last post: when I said the rule is to ice a sprain for the first 24 hours I meant intermittently and for about ten minutes at a time. Not that it helps much now, since you're past this stage, but you can actually apply ice for 1 or 2 days after the sprain to reduce swelling and inflamation. It's best to avoid heat... (3 replies)
