... I think my doctor told me I was NWB for 8 weeks is because I have a bone graft as well (the Keller procedure in Nov 05 shortened my big toe). I have plate and screws and a pin sticking out. At first before the surgery on my pre-op visit he told me PWB for 4 weeks with a walker.......then when he talked to a doctor in the city the doctor told him 8 weeks NWB is typical with... Now I am 10 weeks post op on a bone graft from my hip and a big toe fusion so I will not only never wear anything higher than 1" but can not hike or mountain bike or do marathons or.....to the extent I used to. ...
