... I have found on this board that some doctors will let you drive sooner then others. Before surgery when I was in boot and my doctor allowed me to take boot off to drive, but not after surgery. My doctor would not let me drive until after I was out of boot after surgery. ... (2 replies)

... Hi momofgjc, I had ankle surgery in 2000. In my case I had fractured my ankle or as my Orthopedist said, I completely shattered the bone. Some of the bone was just fragments. Please keep in mind my surgery was done for a different reason than yours and I have another health issue that created more difficulties. Anyway.... I was none weight bearing at that point,... ... painkillers are for the pain coming at you not what you currently feel. Stay ahead of it. Removed the nerve block as directed after 3 days but didn't notice a difference in pain. It does not hurt to remove it. Get a wedge that supports both feet it's more comfortable then just 1. ... (4 replies)
