... I have found on this board that some doctors will let you drive sooner then others. Before surgery when I was in boot and my doctor allowed me to take boot off to drive, but not after surgery. My doctor would not let me drive until after I was out of boot after surgery. ... (2 replies)

... Hi momofgjc, I had ankle surgery in 2000. In my case I had fractured my ankle or as my Orthopedist said, I completely shattered the bone. Some of the bone was just fragments. ... If you go with a cast, try a Cast Cooler. It wraps around the cast and has a PVC that sticks out and holds the vacuum hose. It pulls air through the cast and helps sweaty skin dry, cools you down, calms itching, and can even dry a wet cast. A simple device, but it works. ... (5 replies)
