I had a gastrocnemius recession on my left calf along with lapidus bunionectomy with screws and a plate/fusion and two "hammer toe" surgeries on the next two toes, shortening them and straightening them with pins. I've been out of the boot for awhile now - perhaps about 5 or six weeks out (had surgery on May 30th - today is August 24th). My calf still has a good sized lump... (3 replies)
... as much as you can. The swelling can be super intense early in the recovery and the more you are up, the more swelling you'll have. This is a long recovery but for the bunionectomy you've had 6 months until you start hiking might be possible if you move into healing properly. 6 weeks for the bone to heal. 12 weeks fully. ...
