... don't need a brace because the fusion makes my foot immobile side to side. From what I've read on this board most with the osteotomy do wear a brace for a while. ... Well it sounds like you still have some nerve left that allows you to walk but your big toe still drops a bit. My peroneal nerve was cut during surgery which left me with total foot drop. I even had reconstructive nerve surgery to see if it would come back but it never did. ... (48 replies)

... Thanks for your reply. My Orthopedic Surgeon did say that I had a failed Brostrom last year. Yes, he did do arthroscopic surgery and he used probes to thermally shrink the ligaments. He called this a Brostrom. He told me that this time he will do an "open" Brostrom. ... (8 replies)
