... You'll be in a cast, but what type depends on the type of fracture (how bad it is). Simple ankle breaks end up in an aircast sometimes, or you may be in a fiberglass cast for the first 3-4 weeks, then an aircast boot. However, if the break is significant or displaced, you may need surgery, in which case you will be in a fiberglass cast.
