... Hey! Yeah, stairs can be tricky, lol. I didn't need surgery either but I was in a fiberglass cast for 4 weeks, switched to an air cast 2 weeks ago. I'm pretty sure a walking cast is the same thing. I certainly felt all sorts of tingling, although not anymore. ... (13 replies)

... I have had no cast plaster nor surgery as adviced due to infection etc. I was told I would not be able to putany weight on it until week 12. At week 8 I started walking only around house though, I am noe week ,10 coming into week 11. I can get about house most days, up and down steps and do most things although other days can't. ... ... n a splint because of swelling then 8 weeks in a full cast. Followed by 4 weeks in a boot. Now I am able to walk but with a limp. The pain is almost constant and walking is almost unbearable after a short period of time. My doctor just informed me it may get a little better but he does not see it ever getting much better. ... I had multiple calcaneus heel fractures with 3mm displacement on 28/2/08.Was in nwb cast for 3 months then crutches, 1 crutch,cane, no cane, back on cane now as I have been holidaying for a month in Australia where between long plane journey and too much walking, my foot very sore again, still in PT. ... ieve in a little over a month how much my muscles went to sleep and lost flexibility. I couldn't curl my toes even at first. It's been two weeks now with the air cast and I have much more movement. I do it every day until the muscles hurt to make sure I'm ready when the doc says I can start putting weight on it again. ...
