... In my opinion, yes surgery is the best bet given your injury, history and wanting to get back to sports quickly. Tendons don't usually respond well to conservative treatment. I had a Brostrom repair of my ligaments, peroneal tendon tear, retinaculum repair and fibular osteotomy for groove deepening (so my peroneal tendons won't sublux anymore).
