Brostrom Procedure
May 20, 2017
... I had a Broström on my right ankle in March 2016. As for putting weight on during the recovery, I think that depends very much on the surgeon. Then partially weight-bearing for about a week. Then full weight... (4 replies)

My left ankle bromstrom failed due to a traumatic injury and... (2 replies)

... n because there is always the chance that it could not help. I haven't had the best of luck with surgeries so it makes me worried that I will go through the long recovery just to be in the same or worse position. But then again this surgeon really seems to know what he is talking about and I feel very confident in him. ... (8 replies)

... Thanks for all the responses! At my next appointment with my orthopedic doctor, I will definitely voice my concerns. I will be moving in August to start work on a graduate degree, so I would be starting PT once I move. ... Hi there, I had my surgery on March 5th, so we are close in our recovery. I like you, had very little pain throuhout this whole thing, I had more discomfot than pain. Dr told me to buy it since I'll be nwb for so long, found a good deal online, you can find used ones on craigs list, I bought new. Your insurance might even cover it, ask your Dr for a prescription. Good luck with your recovery :) (4 replies)
