... I ruptured my ATFL and partially tore CFL in left ankle after I landed badly from a jump during volleyball. That was September 2015. I just had the Brostrom-Gould procedure to reconstruction the ligaments in Dec 15 and also had an arthroscopy done. Before your first surgery, did you have any ROM problems? Before mine, everything was getting better, I just couldn't... (13 replies)
2nd ATFL repair

... I can't see another ATFL repair working. Unless something has gone pop inside then it just isn't working for me specifically. I accept that there will always be problems with it. It is such a small area to work in and any disturbance can cause further problems elsewhere. ... (4 replies)

... Hi there, Not really sure wether anyone can help or not but feel the need to talk to like minded people. My name is Dave I'm a 38 yr old cop from the UK. In 2009 I injured my ankle on duty, despite the crack and snap I heard and the fact I had a melon sized swelling I was told it was just a sprain (pah!!) Months and many falls later it was discovered I had buggered... (4 replies)
Where to next?

... I am over a year post op from a brostrom and scope. Over the course of the last year I have had nothing but problems, problems, and more problems. After my surgery my ankle pain had gone away slightly but then soon came back and has continued to get worse. ... (7 replies)
... and that you've been through a lot with this. I was frustrated and I think I only saw 5 total including urgent care. I understand being afraid of needing another surgery but you can't assume that's what they'd suggest. I'd be shocked if that was a first suggestion especially when you are not that far out from surgery. ... (22 replies)
... Im so sorry you had to go through all of that. After hearing how serious your injuries was after your first surgery i dont think that i can say that my surgery has completely failed yet. Doesnt it take 12 months for it to completely heal anyway? ... (22 replies)
... How did you know that your 1st surgery was a fail? ... (22 replies)
... although honestly mine healed so well that it looks smaller than a Brostrom incision unless you poke around and once the red areas when the bone anchors go away I won't even look like i had a Brostrom without getting close. ... (20 replies)
... The specialist that my surgeon is referring me to for the aspiration of scar tissue also does the Platelet thing, so maybe he will try that. I just hope he has some answers for me. (9 replies)
... boot off and my foot is totally dysfunctional. She also said that what my current ortho wanted with orthotics wasn't worth doing right now cause if I had to have surgery I would need something totally different afterwards. ... (20 replies)
... When i was trying to solve my ankle problems i had tons of xrays done and had one mri. Out of the xrays they all came out completely normal. ... (3 replies)
... I had ankle arthroscopy to clear out all of my scar tissue and synovitis and a brostrom to repair my ligaments at age 15. I am now 19 weeks post op from that surgery and have not seen any results. My ankle still wobbles and comes close to rolling completely under all the time. ... (5 replies)
... I have been having lots of problems but none as bad as your i dont think. I am 4 months post op from a brostrom and scope on the right ankle. Everything was fine when i was nwb but as soon as i was fwb without a boot at 9 weeks everything went down hill. ... (6 replies)

... and before surgery i could walk just fine it was just this constant ache and rolling my ankle that i had problems with while doing any sports and i am very athletic. ... (2 replies)
... Yeah, that's really impressive. I own a wobble board because it was something that I just couldn't get right in PT the last time and I wanted to work on it more after I was done. I never got a full revolution without cheating with my arms. I don't remember ever even really getting balanced on there because I couldn't feel that food in space. Thanks for the update. I'll... ... Yes I went into surgery not knowing if I was going to have the brostrom yet. I actually went into surgery without knowing anything about what was wrong. I had an mri and everything was fine. All of my xrays were fine. ... (65 replies)
... part of anything athletic that injuries happen and you just hope that they are repairable. From what the doctor who thought I would be fixed up with a Modified Brostrom alone said when you have that procedure done before severe arthritis hits it is repairable. ... (65 replies)
... This is only a guess but I'm wondering if you have nerve trapped in the scar tissue. Since the whole Brostrom relies on excess scarring to heal presumably we wind up with a lot of it even after therapy. ... (14 replies)
