I had my Austin bunionectomy with screw fix almost a year ago. Although the bone has healed, the ligament has contracted pulling my big toe back over to the second toe. I have seen the doctor, who admitted that the ligament "contracted." I asked for physical therapy, but have not been diligent about doing the exercises on my own.

... summerluvr - That REALLY stinks!! I hope the spacer and orthotics (if you get them) will help prevent further surgery. My arch has fallen under my metatarsals, too, so I had my 2nd metatarsals shortened and my calf muscles lengthened (gastroc recession). I won't know if these procedures have done anything until I'm totally healed - hopefully within the year.
