... I've taken your advice....I saw the ortho today. He doesn't recommend fusing the big toe (says the joint is fine so why mess with it. He says the tendon is too tight and needs something, I'm not sure what). He did say that my 2nd toe is dislocated and needs surgery to be fixed.

... Hi badfeet and Debbie
Getting appointments with my hospital wasn’t bad the first time, in fact, they gave me two in one day! This time, they are so busy with operations that they have no time for follow-ups, I think they are taking on more than they can handle. I was angry yesterday for a long time, because today, I shouldn’t be wearing a bandage, my foot should be free.... (240 replies)

... Hi dbgoalie and debbie, thank you for replying.
Everything was and is still going very well, it was just that when I was climbing the stairs with one of the crutches and accidentally put light weight on the foot, I heard a thump/click noise, which I've never heard before and my foot felt a little weird. Today I went for the x-ray and everything was fine (You were right... (240 replies)
We sound like we are in the same boat. My pain is mostly in the ball of my foot. I just went to an orthopedic surgeon specializing in feet for a second opinion. Now I'm looking at options and not too gungho on any of them (mostly from a failed foot surgery in the spring). My options include fusing my big toe, and shortening the next two, along with a... ... Hi Moonflower - do you know what "kind" of bunionectomy you had done? I had a Lapidus procedure in Oct (involved fusing of the 1st metatatsal - long bone in the foot - at the joint closest to the ankle) and the second toe shortened. The sensation you are getting could be from the swelling. Even at this point (13+ weeks) whenever I get the pins and needles feeling in my foot... (1 replies)
